【摘要】:Theproceduresoutlinedinthispracticearedesignedtostandardizetheexposureofadhesive-bondedspecimensforthepurposeofstudyingtheeffectsofionizingradiation,buthavebeenmadeflexibleenoughsothatalargevarietyofconditionsmaybemetwithinthescopeofthisoneirradiationmethod.Becauseofthisflexibilityintheprocedures,itisimportantthattheexperimenterhavesomeideaofthekindofchangesthatwilloccur,andoftheconditionsthatwillaffectthesechanges.1.1Thepurposeofthispracticeistodefineconditionsfortheexposureofpolymericadhesivesinbondedspecimenstoionizingradiationpriortodeterminationofradiation-inducedchangesinphysicalorchemicalproperties.Thisrecommendedpracticespecificallycoversthefollowingkindsofradiation:gammaorX-rayradiation,electronorbetaradiation,neutrons,andmixturesofthesesuchasreactorradiation.1.2Thispracticespecifiesonlytheconditionsofirradiationbutdoesnotcoverthepreparationoftestspecimens,testingconditions,ortheevaluationoftest.ThesearecoveredinthevariousASTMmethodsorspecificationsforspecificmaterials.1.3Thispracticecoversproceduresforthefollowingfivetypesofexposure:ProcedureA-Exposureatambientconditions.ProcedureB-Exposureatcontrolledtemperature.ProcedureC-Exposureinamediumotherthanair.ProcedureD-Exposureunderload.ProcedureE-ExposurecombiningtwoormoreofthevariableslistedinProceduresAtoD.Note1Theproblemsofmeasuringthepropertiesofmaterialsduringirradiationinvolveshieldingandremotecontrolfacilitiesandare,therefore,notconsideredinthispractice.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5.1ElectricalHazard:Warning-Theusersofthispracticemustbeawarethatthereareinherentdangersassociatedwiththeuseofelectricalinstrumentationandthatthispracticecannotandwillnotsubstituteforapracticalknowledgeoftheinstrumentusedforaparticularprocedure.1.5.2RadioFrequency:Warning-Personswithpacemakersmaybeaffectedbytheradiofrequency.
