【摘要】:Theyieldmeasurementofaerosolfoamsealantsisusedtoindicatetheamountoffoamsealantthatcanbeobtainedfromasinglecanofproduct.Theyielddoesnotpredicttheperformancecapabilityofthefoamsealantproductoritssuitabilityfortheintendedapplication.ProcedureAwasdevelopedforusewithproductsthatcanbevolumetricallymeasuredbysubmersioninwater.ProcedureBwasdevelopedforproductthatcannotbemeasuredbyusingawaterdisplacementmethod.Yieldisoftendependentonthebeadsizedispensed.Extrapolationoftestresultsusingdatameasuredforlargersizebeadstoestimatesmallersizedbeadshasshowninaccuracies.Sinceyieldwillbereportedbasedonthediameterofthecuredbead(notinitialbeadsize),theoperatorshalldeterminethenominalinitialbeadsizerequiredtoproduceaspecificnominalcuredbeaddiameter.Thisfoamcharacteristic,calledx201C;postdispensingcontractionx201D;orx201C;postdispensingexpansion,x201D;isdefinedinTerminologyC717.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminesthequantityoflinearunitsofafoamsealanthavingaspecifiedbeaddiameterthatmaybeobtainedfromasinglecanofaerosolproduct.Four(4)cansarerequiredforeachproductdetermination.1.2Thetestmethodisintendedtoestimatethecontentsoftheaerosolcontainer(1)forpurposesoflabelstatements,and(2)toprovidetheuserinformationneededtoestimatejobrequirements.1.3Foamsealantsareusedforavarietyofend-useapplicationsbutareprimarilyintendedtoreduceairmovementinthebuildingenvelope.1.4Currently,twomainfoamsealanttypesareapplicabletothisstandard:singlecomponentpolyurethaneandlatex.1.5Thereisnootherknownstandardtestmethodtomeasureaerosolfoamsealantyield.1.6ValuesarereportedinSIunitsonly.Certainapparatusandsupplyitemsarereferencedininch-poundunitsforpurchasingpurposes.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
