【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthebrominenumberofthefollowingmaterials:Petroleumdistillatesthataresubstantiallyfreeofmateriallighterthanisobutaneandthathave90%distillationpoints(byTestMethodD86)under327?C(626?F).Thistestmethodisgenerallyapplicabletogasoline(includingleaded,unleaded,andoxygenatedfuels),kerosine,anddistillatesinthegasoilrangethatfallinthefollowinglimits:Commercialolefinsthatareessentiallymixturesofaliphaticmono-olefinsandthatfallwithintherangeof95to165brominenumber(seeNote1).Thistestmethodhasbeenfoundsuitableforsuchmaterialsascommercialpropylenetrimerandtetramer,butenedimer,andmixednonenes,octenes,andheptenes.Thistestmethodisnotsatisfactoryfornormalalpha-olefins.Note1-Theselimitsareimposedsincetheprecisionofthistestmethodhasbeendeterminedonlyuptoorwithintherangeofthesebrominenumbers.Themagnitudeofthebrominenumberisanindicationofthequantityofbromine-reactiveconstituents,notanidentificationofconstituents;therefore,itsapplicationasameasureofolefinicunsaturationshouldnotbeundertakenwithoutthestudygiveninAnnexA1.Forpetroleumhydrocarbonmixturesofbrominenumberlessthan1.0,amoreprecisemeasureforbromine-reactiveconstituentscanbeobtainedbyusingTestMethodD2710.Ifthebrominenumberislessthan0.5,thenTestMethodD2710orthecomparablebromineindexmethodsforindustrialaromatichydrocarbons,TestMethodsD1492orD5776mustbeusedinaccordancewiththeirrespectivescopes.Thepracticeofusingafactorof1000toconvertbrominenumbertobromineindexisnotapplicablefortheselowervaluesofbrominenumber.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,seeSections7,8,and9.
