【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesgeneralproceduresformakingjointswithpolyolefinpipeandfittings(excludingpolyethylenepipeandfittings)bymeansofheatfusionjoiningtechniquesineitherashoporfieldenvironment.Theseproceduresaregeneralones.Specificinstructionsforheatfusionjoiningareobtainedfromproductmanufacturers.SeePracticeF2620forheatfusionjoiningofpolyethylenepipeandfittings.Thetechniquescoveredareapplicableonlytojoiningpolyolefinpipeandfittingsofrelatedpolymerchemistry,forexample,polypropylenestopolypropylenes,orpolybutylenestopolybutylenes.Material,density,andflowrateshallbetakenintoconsiderationinordertodevelopuniformmeltviscositiesandformationofagoodfusionbondwhenjoiningthesamematerialtoitselfortoothermaterialsofrelatedpolymerchemistry.PartsthatarewithinthedimensionaltolerancesgiveninpresentASTMspecificationsarerequiredtoproducesoundjointsbetweenpolyolefinpipeandfittingswhenusingthejoiningtechniquesdescribedinthispractice.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thetextofthispracticereferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthepractice.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Seespecificsafetyprecautionsin3.1.1,5.2,8.2.3.1,Note8andNote9,andA1.1.
