【摘要】:Thistestmethodmaybeusedformaterialdevelopment,characterization,designdatageneration,andqualitycontrolpurposes.Thistestmethodisspecificallyappropriatefordeterminingthemodulusofadvancedceramicsthatareelastic,homogeneous,andisotropic(1).Thistestmethodaddressestheroomtemperaturedeterminationofdynamicmoduliofelasticityofslenderbars(rectangularcross-section)androds(cylindrical).Flatplatesanddisksmayalsobemeasuredsimilarly,buttherequiredequationsfordeterminingthemoduliarenotaddressedherein.Thisdynamictestmethodhasseveraladvantagesanddifferencesfromstaticloadingtechniquesandfromresonanttechniquesrequiringcontinuousexcitation.Thetestmethodisnondestructiveinnatureandcanbeusedforspecimenspreparedforothertests.Thespecimensaresubjectedtominutestrains;hence,themoduliaremeasuredatorneartheoriginofthestress-straincurve,withtheminimumpossibilityoffracture.Theimpulseexcitationtestusesanimpacttoolandsimplesupportsforthetestspecimen.Thereisnorequirementforcomplexsupportsystemsthatrequireelaboratesetuporalignment.Thistechniquecanbeusedtomeasureresonantfrequenciesaloneforthepurposesofqualitycontrolandacceptanceoftestspecimensofbothregularandcomplexshapes.Arangeofacceptableresonantfrequenciesisdeterminedforaspecimenwithaparticulargeometryandmass.Deviationsinspecimendimensionsormassandinternalflaws(cracks,delaminations,inhomogeneities,porosity,etc)willchangetheresonantfrequencyforthatspecimen.Anyspecimenwitharesonantfrequencyfallingoutsidetheprescribedfrequencyrangeisrejected.Theactualmodulusofeachspecimenneednotbedeterminedaslongasthelimitsoftheselectedfrequencyrangeareknowntoincludetheresonantfrequencythatthespecimenmustpossessifitsgeometryandmassandinternalstructurearewithinspecifiedtolerances.Thetechniqueisparticularlysuitablefortestingspecimenswithcomplexgeometries(otherthanparallelepipeds,cylinders/rods,ordiscs)thatwouldnotbesuitablefortestingbyotherprocedures.ThisissimilartotheevaluationmethoddescribedinGuideE2001.Ifathermaltreatmentoranenvironmentalexposureaffectstheelasticresponseofthetestspecimen,thistestmethodmaybesuitableforthedeterminationofspecificeffectsofthermalhistory,environmentexposure,etc.Specimendescriptionsshouldincludeanyspecificthermaltreatmentsorenvironmentalexposuresthatthespecimenshavereceived.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthedynamicelasticpropertiesofadvancedceramicsatambienttemperatures.Specimensofthesematerialspossessspecificmechanicalresonantfrequenciesthataredeterminedbytheelasticmodulus,mass,andgeometryofthetestspecimen.Thedynamicelasticpropertiesofamaterialcanthereforebecomputedifthegeometry,mass,andmechanicalresonantfrequenciesofasuitable(rectangular,cylindrical,ordiscgeometry)testspecimenofthatmaterialcanbemeasured.DynamicYoung''smodulusisdeterminedusingtheresonantfrequencyintheflexuralmodeofvibration.Thedynamicshearmodulus,ormodulusofrigidity,isfoundusingtorsionalresonantvibrations.DynamicYoung''smodulusanddynamicshearmodulusareusedtocomputePoisson''sratio.1.2Thistestmethodmeasuresthefundamentalresonantfrequencyoftestspecimensofsuitablegeometrybyexcitingthemmechanicallybyasingularelasticstrikewithanimpulsetool.Specimensupports,impulselocations,andsignalpick-uppointsareselectedtoinduceandmeasurespecificmodesofthetransientvibrations.Atransducer(forexample,contactaccelerometerornon-contactingmicrophone)......
